Tacko Fall has not played in the NBA since 2022, but on Friday night he made a return to its spotlight as a member of Team Anderson in the 2026 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, delivering a dominant performance.
The former Boston Celtic and Cleveland Cavalier posted 20 points, 21 rebounds and five blocks in a game featuring celebrities and athletes from various sports. However, actor Rome Flynn claimed MVP honors with 17 points in Team Antetokounmpo’s 65-58 win, drawing boos from the crowd.
Fans Say Tacko Fall Snubbed for Celebrity Game MVP Honors
Fall spent most of his NBA tenure at the end of the bench, with a career-high of just six points. Still, his size made him an imposing rebounder, highlighted by a 10-rebound effort in only 19 minutes in 2021.
Facing lower-level competition on Friday, Fall put on a show with emphatic dunks and strong finishes, but it was not enough to carry his team to victory or secure the MVP award.
“Tacko Fall snubbed,” one fan wrote.
“Celebrity mvp is a popularity contest not a stat one, change my mind,” another said.
“How did Tacko not win? 20/20/5 blocks?” another commented.
Here are more reactions from fans.
Fall went undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft before later signing with the Boston Celtics. During his two seasons in Boston, he became a fan favorite. He joined the Cleveland Cavaliers as a free agent in 2021.
At the 2019 NBA draft combine, Fall recorded measurements that set all-time records, including tallest height in shoes (7 feet, 7 inches; 2.31 meters), longest wingspan (8 feet, 2.25 inches; 250 cm) and highest standing reach (10 feet, 2.5 inches; 3.11 meters).
In August 2022, Fall signed a one-year deal with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association. The following year, he joined the Nanjing Monkey Kings, and in 2025, he signed with the Ningbo Rockets.
In the NBA, Fall never fully established himself, averaging 2.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 6.2 minutes per game across 37 total appearances.
