“Jalen Brunson Said So, It Shall Be Done”: Fans React as Knicks Star Sends Message To Swifties Amid Monica McNutt Controversy

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson has become a living legend in the Big Apple after he led them to their first NBA championship in 53 years. After taking down the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in NBA Finals Game 5, the point guard requested Taylor Swift fans on behalf of NBA analyst Monica McNutt.

For those unaware, McNutt is receiving immense backlash from Swifties after she questioned whether Swift was really a Knicks fan. The global popstar attended NBA Finals Game 4 in a Knicks fan jersey.

Brunson, who was fresh off celebrating the Knicks’ NBA championship win, requested all the Swifties to cut McNutt some slack.

“I just want to say something to the Swifties,” Brunson said. “She’s really a good one. Cut her some slack. It’s all good. I promise.”

Brunson’s words were as good as gold for the Knicks fanbase. Meanwhile, some fans cracked jokes about how Brunson defended McNutt.

“Jalen Brunson said so it shall be done,” one fan wrote.

“jalen brunson chronically online and still an nba champion 😭😂” another fan added.

“Winning a chip and FMVP just gave him more confidence to be this unserious,” one fan wrote.

“Man won a ring and immediately started doing PR for the interviewer. She’s a really good one’ with that smile is crazy work 😂” one fan commented.

“Brunson out here winning chips AND shooting his shot at the Swifties 😂” one fan reacted.

“why is he literally a puppy dog,” one fan commented.

“After winning a ring, the man began promoting himself to the interviewer right away. She’s really talented, and her smile is amazing 😂,” another fan joked.

Jalen Brunson Joins Knicks Lore With Spectacular Game 5 Performance

The Knicks came to San Antonio with a healthy 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals against the Spurs. Jalen Brunson has been a constant performer throughout the series and he took it to another level to seal the championship in Game 5 itself.

The Knicks point guard delivered a spectacular performance to secure the franchise’s NBA championship in 53 years. Brunson exploded for 45 points in the title-clinching win over San Antonio and was unanimously named NBA Finals MVP.

It was a record-breaking performance in multiple ways.

Brunson broke the franchise record for points scored in an NBA Finals game, surpassing Knicks icon Willis Reed’s mark. Brunson scored 29 of his 45 points in the second half to erase a double-digit deficit. New York rallied once again to close out the Spurs 94-90.
