LeBron James and Jeanie Buss’ drama has reached almost every NBA conversation lately. It was even discussed in Jason Whitlock’s Fearless show on his YouTube channel. James was reported to be in trade talks, followed by rumors about discourse in Buss and his relationship in the franchise.
The issue has led to divided opinions in the NBA world, with several analysts siding with LeBron James and his impact in Los Angeles. While Whitlock and his co-host Steve Kim showed “some sympathy” for King James, the other co-host Jay Skapinac elaborated on his rant about Jeanie Buss and her management.
Skap referred to the popular meme of a sweating man trying to choose a button to press in a pressure situation, expressing his condition on the topic. He said:
“I hate both parties. I have been talking smack on the idiot that is Jeanie Buss for well over a decade. Guys look, it’s not just Jeanie, it’s about the entire Buss clan.”
The co-host let Jeanie’s two Buss half-brothers off the hook in the entire situation, but criticized Jeanie and the other brothers. He added:
“Jeanie and her other brothers have just systematically flushed this franchise down the toilet… It began in the Kobe Bryant era, they basically helped to destroy the last couple of years of Kobe Bryant’s career.”
Skap primarily blamed Jeanie and Jim Buss for the Lakers’ situation and even referred to Kobe Bryant’s tail end of career to back his argument.
After Bryant suffered an Achilles injury in 2013, everything changed for the franchise. It followed several seasons of failure to reach the postseason, and Bryant did major heavy lifting and dragged the team for the most part. The Jeanie Buss-LeBron James controversy has led several former players and analysts to express their thoughts on the matter.
“How much money did you make of Bron?” Austin Rivers comments on LeBron James-Jeanie Buss tussle
Former NBA player and the host of the Off Guard with Austin Rivers expressed his thoughts on social media about the issue. He took to the comment section of Bleacher Report’s post on Instagram and wrote:
“Yea alright…how much money you made of bron??? Did he not win you a ring? How much merchandise and fair has been created since his arrival. Stop it.”
It is unclear what will happen to LeBron James and his future with the Lakers, but the issue has certainly divided the NBA world. The beef reportedly ignited when James was brought to LA in 2018 and was touted as the “saviour” of the franchise.
Moreover, James’ lack of regard for Bronny James’ draft and Klutch Sports owner Rich Paul’s involvement in internal matters were also reported to be the reasons for the beef between the forward and Jeanie Buss.
