Jeanie Buss and LeBron James’ internal team drama has hit the NBA world like a rock, and Austin Rivers has now expressed his thoughts on the matter. Buss, the Governor of the Lakers and the last of the Buss family in the franchise, reportedly had a long feud with James, which recently came to light.
Bleacher Report shared the news of Buss’ unhappiness with LeBron James’ “outsized ego” on social media.
The former NBA shooting guard took to the comment section to highlight the other side of the story, asking questions to the Lakers’ governor. He wrote:
“Yea alright…how much money you made of bron??? Did he not win you a ring? How much merchandise and fair has been created since his arrival. Stop it.”

Rivers has earlier mentioned that he has no relationship with King James, but he has appreciated the 21-time All-Star’s career on multiple occasions. Meanwhile, Jeanie Buss’ troubled history with her family after the recent ownership shift in the franchise has raised questions about behind-the-scenes details of her feud with LeBron. Meanwhile, Rivers’ points could not be avoided.
James and the Lakers have been the leading names in jersey sales since the forward joined the franchise. Moreover, he led the team to its 17th title after a decade of drought. Interestingly, the talk about the beef grew stronger as some sources reported that the franchise might be eyeing a trade of the 4-time NBA champion.
Should the LA Lakers trade LeBron James?
After the Kobe Bryant era came to an end, the Lakers were on the lookout for their next face of the franchise. LeBron James was brought to the city in 2018 on a 4-year deal, and the team ended its championship drought after a decade in 2020. Although the team did not make a title run after that, they have been constantly in the playoff talks.
Luka Doncic’s arrival last season has given a boost to the offense, as he leads the NBA in scoring this season, and the team stands in 5th place in the Western Conference. However, the last few games have told a different story. In the absence of Austin Rivers, the team has looked short-handed on the offense, but is it due to LeBron James’ production?
James is averaging 22.5 points, six rebounds, and seven assists, the lowest since his rookie season, in his 23rd season in the league, when Doncic’s arrival has relieved him of the major ball-handling duties. Even then, he has made clutch plays in times of need and has helped them with his on-court vision and basketball IQ.
Its unsure if the Lakers franchise will execute the LeBron James trade, who has currently exercised his player option and will be a free agent after the season.
