Victor Wembanyama’s comeback in Game 4 was a welcome sight for San Antonio Spurs fans who feared the French big man might not be cleared from the NBA’s concussion protocol in time. However, Wembanyama’s comments after the Game 4 victory rubbed some fans the wrong way.
When asked to comment on the concussion protocol after the Spurs-Blazers matchup, Wemby appeared irked by how the league handled his situation.
“I don’t want it to become a distraction. Ask me again at the end of the season…but the way the situation was handled was very disappointing.”
Some fans made it clear that they were not pleased at all with Victor Wembanyama’s response.
“Wemby is starting to become so unlikeable bro always bitcjing about something, d****** you went unconscious on the floor they was doing it to protect you”
“Next time, learn to keep your hands up, kid – you were flat on the floor for a few seconds and you still feel disappointed”
“Now he had to be careful and not talk too much”
“I like Wemby but he’s definitely going to become a DIVA as he has more years in the NBA. Let’s hope he doesn’t become like Kawhi all over again.”
“Are we sure he doesn’t need some more time in the protocol?”
“This little b**** cries about everything…So sick of this dude”
As if to make a point that he’s perfectly fine, Victor Wembanyama imposed his will in the paint Sunday night, grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds and tallying seven blocked shots.
Wemby finished with 27 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the field as the Spurs won 114-93 to go up 3-1 in the first-round series.
