Steph Curry’s mother, Sonya Curry, sparked concern among fans after they noticed that she was missing from Dell Curry’s jersey retirement on Thursday. The Charlotte Hornets honored Curry at Spectrum Center when they raised his No. 30 jersey to the rafters during halftime of the Hornets-Magic game.
Pictures from the event show Curry’s family in attendance, including Steph Curry, Seth Curry and his children, and his daughter Sydell Curry and her children. The Golden State Warriors guard also expressed his thoughts on his family’s “special night” with a post on social media.
“A special night for the Curry family,” Steph wrote. “The originator is in the rafters forever. Congratulations, @wardell5.”
Pictures of the family attending the event were shared on social media by fans. Many noticed and pointed out that Curry’s former partner of 33 years and Steph Curry’s mother, Sonya, was missing. Fans took note of the family’s size while expressing their disappointment over her absence.
“Did not realize Seth has two daughters and two sons as well! The Curry clan is huge … kinda sad Sonya isn’t there,” one fan wrote.

Sonya Curry and Dell Curry accused each other of cheating in their divorce filings
Sonya and Dell Curry had been together for 33 years before getting a divorce in 2021. For years, the pair had projected a united front, showing up together to support Seth and Steph Curry at their NBA games.
So, many were surprised after the pair accused each other of infidelity in their divorce proceedings. According to a report from TMZ, Sonya cited the former NBA star’s “marital misconduct” in her divorce filing.
A separate filing from Dell Curry accused her of “acts of illicit sexual misconduct.” According to Sonya Curry, the couple had been separated since March 2020. Addressing his parents’ high-profile divorce, Steph called it “challenging.”
