“She’s Gonna Block the Entire City of Detroit” – NBA Fans Lose It Over Pistons Crowd’s Angel Reese Chant at Wendell Carter Jr During Free Throw

The fans of the Detroit Pistons came up big for their home team in Game 7, cheering their players on and needled their opponents all night long. In particular, one Orlando Magic big man had to deal with a raucous chant that broke out as he was taking free throws.

To distract Wendell Carter Jr. at the charity stripe, the fans inside Little Caesars Arena chanted the name of his girlfriend Angel Reese. Pistons beat reporter first tweeted about this, then posted a clip in which the fans’ heckling could be heard loud and clear.

Reacting to this viral clip, netizens also piled on Wendell Carter Jr. and Angel Reese.

“Damn, now she’s gonna block the entire city of Detroit”

“She was talkin greasy. Now her man in Cancun”

“She started it with those dumb aaah posts”

Good. She deserves this. Classless human being @Reese10Angel”

    “Eat s*** Orlando and Reese”

“they both took a L today”

As some fans pointed out, it was not a good weekend for this basketball couple. On Reese’s end, her Dream squad lost 83-72 to the Washington Mystics in a preseason game. To make matters worse, a clip of Reese’s miscues (such as missed layups and awkward shooting form) went viral as well.

As for Carter, he and the rest of the Magic blew a 3-1 series lead as the Detroit Pistons routed them in Game 7 to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs. Carter finished with 13 points and five rebounds in this do-or-die game.

“Plagued the Magic All Season Long”: Analyst Blasts Wendell Carter Jr. for Crucial Error in Game 7

One analyst, however, has called out Wendell Carter Jr. for committing an error that might have extinguished the Magic’s last attempt to rally in Game 7.

According to Ian Williams, a rushed shot by Carter in crunchtime was costly for his team.

“At the 3:40 minute mark of the 4th quarter, Wendell Carter shoots a semi contested 3 point shot with 15 seconds left on the shot clock. This was a crucial point in the run the Orlando Magic had established ending the game to try and rally. It’s plays like that which have plagued the Orlando Magic all season long smh,” Williams tweeted.

The Magic scored 30 points in the fourth quarter, but by that point, the Pistons had already seized control of the game, going on to win 116-94.
