“Say Where My B**ch”: Marcus Smart Puts Luka Doncic on the Spot as Lakers Superstar Flaunts Gold Chain in Viral Locker Room Swagger

Marcus Smart put Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic on the spot during a moment shared in the Lakers’ locker room. A video shared on Instagram by the account @courtsidebuzzig shows Doncic walking around the locker room wearing a gold chain.

The post provided context, explaining that Doncic wore the chain upon Jarred Vanderbilt’s request. In the clip, Smart is heart asking the Slovenian guard to repeat a certain phrase.

“Say where my b**ch,” Smart said as Doncic walked off laughing.

Smart, currently in his 12th season, spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Boston Celtics. He signed a two-year, $10.5 million deal with the Lakers last summer, with a player option for the 2026-27 season.

He has played 60 games for the Lakers, averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, shooting 39.9%, including 33.6% from 3-point range. His impact on both ends of the floor has made him a valuable part of JJ Redick’s rotation.

Smart brings championship experience to a relatively young Lakers team. Between him, LeBron James, DeAndre Ayton and Luka Doncic, the team boasts significant experience in the playoffs, which should prove key in the coming month.

Luka Doncic recruited Marcus Smart to the Lakers last summer

Shortly after signing his deal with the Lakers, Marcus Smart admitted that Luka Doncic played a significant role in recruiting him. He opened up about Doncic’s part in the process during his introductory press conference ahead of the 2025-26 season.

“When you get a guy like Luka calling, checking on you, trying to see where you’re at, to see if you want to come join something special that he’s trying to cook up over here…that meant a lot,” Smart said.

Led by Doncic, the team is third in the Western Conference with a 48-26 record. The Lakers have gone 16-2 in their last 18 games and are on a roll ahead of the playoffs. Doncic is averaging 35.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.6 assists over this stretch.

Los Angeles will look to extend its winning streak to three when it returns to the court to face the Washington Wizards on Monday.
