Raptors vs Warriors Preview and Prediction

The Toronto Raptors began the new year with plenty of positive takeaways, opening with three straight wins. That early momentum cooled a bit after they managed just two victories in their next six games. But despite the slight dip in form, they sit fourth in the Eastern Conference standings, holding a 1.5-game advantage over the #5 Philadelphia 76ers.

Golden State, meanwhile, has been one of the hottest teams since the new year. Over the first three weeks of the year, the Warriors have put together an impressive 7-3 record and are riding a four-game winning streak.

These two teams last met on Dec. 28 at Scotiabank Arena, where Steph Curry put on a show. However, Curry’s 39-point outing wasn’t enough to help Golden State finish the job. Scottie Barnes was dominant for Toronto, posting a massive 23-point, 25-rebound double-double to lead the Raptors to a 141-127 win, with Toronto outscoring the Warriors 19-5.

Despite that result, Golden State enters Tuesday’s matchup as the favorite. Their recent form cannot be overlooked, with six wins in their last seven games. Toronto, on the other hand, will be shorthanded. Collin Murray-Boyles, Ja’Kobe Walter, Jakob Poeltl, and RJ Barrett are all confirmed to be out.

The Warriors do not have any key rotation players officially ruled out, though Draymond Green, Gui Santos, Jimmy Butler III, and De’Anthony Melton have appeared on the injury report as day-to-day.

Prediction: Expect the Warriors to win by 5 points.
