The 2026 All-Star Game is fast approaching, bringing together the league’s brightest stars for a showcase of elite basketball.
All-Star selections are decided through multiple rounds of voting and reflect a player’s influence on the game. Below are the players with the most All-Star appearances in history.

#5. Kevin Durant (16)
With his 16th NBA All-Star selection this year, Kevin Durant moved past Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O’Neal, who each had 15. Durant ranks third in all-time All-Star Game scoring, behind only James and Bryant. He was also named All-Star MVP in 2012 and 2019.
Since his time with the OKC Thunder, he has moved from one contender to another, but now in his 17th NBA season and first with the Houston Rockets, he remains elite, averaging 25.8 points on 50.6% shooting.
#4. Julius Erving (16)
Julius “Dr. J” Erving transformed the sport with his high-flying style, starring in both the ABA and NBA as a legendary small forward. A three-time ABA MVP, two-time ABA champion and 1981 NBA MVP, he led the Philadelphia 76ers to the 1983 NBA title.
He earned 16 combined All-Star selections, 11 in the NBA and five in the ABA. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993.
Over his career, he averaged 24.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

Kobe Bryant spent all 20 of his NBA seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. In 1,346 regular-season games, he averaged 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He was selected to 18 All-Star Games. He captured one MVP award, two Finals MVP awards and five NBA championships. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020.
Bryant won the NBA All-Star Game MVP award four times, in 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011. He shares the record for most All-Star MVP honors with Bob Pettit. After his death in 2020, the league renamed the All-Star Game MVP award in his honor.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played 20 seasons with the Lakers and Bucks. Across 1,560 regular-season games, he averaged 24.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.6 blocks. He earned 19 All-Star selections. He won the Rookie of the Year award, six MVP awards, two Finals MVP awards and six NBA championships. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995.

LeBron James has played 23 seasons in the NBA. This year, he extended his All-Star streak to a record 22 consecutive selections.
At 41, James is the league’s oldest player, and with his latest All-Star nod, he pushed his marks for both total and consecutive All-Star selections even higher.
The NBA’s all-time leading scorer, James is a four-time MVP and four-time NBA champion. This season, he is averaging 22.0 points, 7.1 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 36 games.
He also became the oldest player to record a triple-double, finishing with 28 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in a win against the Dallas Mavericks at 41 years and 44 days on Thursday, surpassing Karl Malone.
