New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks Preview and Prediction

The New York Knicks carried their strong form from the end of the regular season (5-1 in the final two weeks) straight into the playoffs, opening with an impressive 113-102 win in Game 1. Jalen Brunson set the tone at Madison Square Garden with 28 points and seven assists, eclipsing CJ McCollum’s 26-point valiant effort.

The Hawks didn’t back down, though. They escaped with two straight wins in nail-biters, 107-106 and 109-108 on Apr. 20 and Apr. 23. Jalen Johnson and McCollum led the charge, combining for an average of 48.0 points per game and helping Atlanta grab a 2-1 lead in the series.

New York responded in a big way. Games 4 and 5 were one-sided, with the Knicks winning 114-98 and 126-97 to regain control of the series at 3-2. Brunson once again stepped up, averaging 29.0 points across those games, including a dominant 39-point performance in the latest win.

The Knicks’ recent wins have been convincing, with an average margin of 22.5 points, giving them clear momentum heading into Game 6. However, the Hawks should make things competitive at home, where they’ve been solid with a 24-17 record in the regular season, compared to the Knicks’ 22-19 record on the road.

Prediction: Expect the Knicks to win by 6 points.
