NBA Analyst Claims LeBron James to Miami Would Be a “Disaster”

After the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade was announced, rumors of a Miami Heat comeback for LeBron James picked up in earnest. For one NBA analyst, this isn’t such a great idea.

In a conversation with Colin Cowherd on “The Herd” this past Saturday, sports podcaster Jason McIntyre laughed off the notion of James joining Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo in Miami next season.

“I cannot wait to see this disaster…It’s interesting, but do you really think it’s a good strategy for LeBron?”

When Cowherd argued that Miami could provide James some support in terms of rim protection, McIntyre sarcastically suggested that Heat center Bam Adebayo might as well invite his girlfriend, reigning WNBA MVP and co-Defensive Player of the Year A’ja Wilson, to take up a roster spot in South Beach.

While McIntyre isn’t too enthusiastic about James having a second stint with the Heat, other analysts think it’s doable. Heat insider Ethan Skolnick reported this week that, as far as the Heat organization is concerned, acquiring LBJ is “something they will explore.”

In addition, Lakers analyst Jovan Buha considers the Heat “one of the top suitors” if James and his camp don’t come to terms with the purple and gold.

Antetokounmpo and James would form an extremely athletic partnership, but it remains to be seen if the logistics could be pulled off at this point.

Report: Lakers Have Yet to Extend Offer to LeBron James for Next Season

The summer is just getting started, but for what it’s worth, it appears that the Lakers haven’t engaged LeBron James in contract talks just yet.

Appearing on “Get Up” this past Friday, ESPN’s Shams Charania gave an update on the LBJ situation in Tinseltown.

“My understanding is, the Lakers have not made an offer to LeBron as of yesterday. Over the next five or six days, we’ll learn more. And also, the Lakers will have an opportunity to be more active to see what does the roster look like by the time they get back to LeBron James.”

Charania added that the Lakers front office has also kept busy with other roster management issues, such as offering an extension to Austin Reaves and considering a number of trades.
