The Minnesota Timberwolves just can’t seem to get their entire roster together lately. The team has listed four key players on the injury report ahead of their season road finale against the Houston Rockets.
The Timberwolves were without three players, Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, and Ayo Dosunmu, in a 132-120 loss to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. Now, those three, along with Bones Hyland, could potentially be out for Friday’s game against the Rockets.
For Minnesota, much of the spotlight will be on Anthony Edwards, who is expected to return to the lineup after missing the last three games with a knee injury. He is listed as questionable. The team’s leading scorer has appeared in just two of the last 12 games, leaving the sixth-seed Timberwolves in a much more vulnerable position.
Julius Randle, who took on increased scoring responsibility in Edwards’ absence, is also listed as questionable with a hand injury. He last played 28 minutes in a 124-104 win over the Indiana Pacers on Apr.7. He finished with 19 points, two rebounds and four assists.
Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland are also carrying the same questionable designation with calf and hip injuries. Dosunmu did not play in the last game against the Magic, while Hyland played 23 minutes, scoring nine points.
Minnesota has been plagued by injury concerns in recent times. The Timberwolves have won just four of their past 10 games, which has seen them lose their grip on the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings. They are now out of the race for home-court advantage and sit four games behind fifth place, whom they play on Friday.
