LA Clippers Injury Report: Massive Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac Decisions Loom Ahead of Raptors Matchup (Jan. 16)

The LA Clippers are back on the road after rattling off four straight wins and will now travel to Toronto to take on the Raptors on Friday. This matchup will also mark Kawhi Leonard’s return to the city where he led the team to a championship in 2019. However, his status to suit up against his former team is still uncertain. The two-time NBA Finals MVP has been placed on the injury report, along with five other players.

Leonard, who has a well-documented history of injuries, has been listed as questionable since suffering an ankle sprain against the New York Knicks on Jan. 7. However, he has been able to suit up and play around 30 minutes in each of the last four games.

After missing a chunk of games in November, the injury luck is beginning to turn around for him. Not only has Leonard not missed a game since Nov. 24, but he has also been firing on all cylinders offensively. He has been one of the main reasons behind the team’s recent offensive surge.

Apart from Leonard, center Ivica Zubac and forward John Collins are listed as questionable. Zubac has been dealing with a left ankle sprain and missed Wednesday’s game against the Washington Wizards after sustaining the injury in Monday’s 117-109 victory over the Charlotte Hornets. Similarly, Collins also missed the previous game with a groin injury. Both players will be evaluated before tipoff.

Meanwhile, Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring), Derrick Jones Jr. (MCL sprain) and Bradley Beal (hip) continue their treatment on the sidelines.

How to Watch LA Clippers vs Toronto Raptors?

The Clippers vs. Raptors game is scheduled to take place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET. This is the first of the two nonconference matchups scheduled this season. Last season, both teams won a game apiece.

SportsNet and FDSSC will televise the matchup. Fans can stream on Fubo, and international fans can use NBA League Pass to watch the action.

The Clippers (17-23) have played plenty of legitimately good basketball recently after starting the season historically low. The recent surge has moved them past the Dallas Mavericks (16-26) and Utah Jazz (14-27) in the standings.

Entering play Friday, LA is tied with the Memphis Grizzlies for the 11th spot. With so much of the season still in front of them, the Clippers have plenty of time to climb back into a playoff spot.
