Jaylen Brown’s social media activity over the past few days amid the trade rumor mill has been under a microscope. It escalated on Saturday after Brown replied to ESPN insider Bobby Marks’ report on an analytics person claiming the Boston Celtics star would be the seventh-best player on a team.
Brown then shared an Instagram reel on his story, which suggested he was the Celtics’ best player over Jayson Tatum during the 2024 championship run. On Monday, Brown didn’t directly address a rumor, but he liked an Instagram comment that pushed a narrative on Boston disrespecting him.
“Man, as a person who can’t stand the Celtics, I hope they do right by him by trading him to a city that respects him,” Instagram user @orlandovibedealer wrote.
The comment was under Brown’s Instagram post from Saturday.
Brown led the Celtics to the No. 2 seed last year, despite many predicting Boston would be subpar as Jayson Tatum spent most of the season recovering from an Achilles tear. The Celtics also had significant roster turnover with Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford leaving the franchise.
However, the five-time All-Star wing enjoyed one of his best individual seasons, averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists. Despite Brown’s exceptional run, the Celtics reportedly included him in the trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo, which Milwaukee ultimately declined in favor of Miami’s package.
It’s not surprising to see that Jaylen Brown feels disrespected, but after seeing him “like” a comment that suggested it, Celtics fans were infuriated. A fan compared his reaction to Kevin Durant’s online behavior, who, during the 2026 All-Star weekend, was accused of allegedly using a burner to criticize the Rockets.
“He’s reaching Kevin Durant levels of internet annoying,” the fan wrote.

Jaylen Brown Reportedly Frustrated With Celtics For Fielding Trade Calls
Jaylen Brown seems to have reached his boiling point because of the trade rumors. According to Celtics insider Adam Himmelsbach, Brown has grown frustrated with Boston fielding calls despite his MVP-caliber season last year.
“League sources said that the Celtics have continued to field calls from teams interested in trading for Brown,” Himmelsbach wrote on Monday. “A league source said that Brown has grown frustrated with the organization’s approach following a season in which he guided the Celtics to 56 wins while Jayson Tatum was sidelined for months with an Achilles injury.”
Brown is generating significant interest in the trade market with several contenders eyeing his services. The Trail Blazers were among the reported suitors, but have seemingly pulled out of the race after acquiring Ja Morant from the Grizzlies.
According to the latest rumors from NBA on Prime insider Chris Haynes, the Nuggets appear to be the closest team in the Brown sweepstakes. They are in talks with the Celtics and have a “deep interest.”
