Jaylen Brown’s trade news has come with a heavy heart for every Boston Celtics fan, but one little JB fan was in tears after the big update. The Celtics guard was heavily rumored to be traded soon, and the call eventually came from Philadelphia. He will now pair up with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. And when his little fan got upset with the change, Brown was there to support him.
After the Brown news came out, the little fan, who had earlier met the guard in person at a Celtics game, as per a screenshot in his latest video, shared a clip in which the kid was seen crying his eyes out. The caption of the video read:
“I think my 6 year old just experienced his first heartbreak. His favorite player Jaylen Brown got traded. I am in tears watching him cry like this.”
Brown came to the comment section and assured the kid that he would always be friends with him, no matter which team he plays. He wrote:
“It’s ok lil bro. we will always be friends”

The Philadelphia 76ers have sent Paul George and a couple of first- and second-round picks in exchange for Brown, who is worth more than $57 million for the next season. The Celtics have strengthened their perimeter shooting and are hoarding assets for the future. Meanwhile, Brown will get a fresh start with Embiid after a championship-winning campaign in Boston.
Kendrick Perkins blasts the Celtics for going ahead with the Jaylen Brown trade
After the Celtics announced their decision to move Jaylen Brown, Kendrick Perkins sounded off on the front office’s decision and labeled the trade “dumbest.” The former Celtics star believed that the management should have pulled off the Giannis Antetokounmpo deal, but instead went for Paul George, who “has not been reliable and basically available in the last two seasons.”
The former NBA player-turned-analyst said:
“Kendrick Perkins goes OFF on Brad Stevens and the Celtics for trading Jaylen Brown:
“It was one of the dumbest trades in NBA history… they finessed the hell out of him.””
Jaylen Brown to the 76ers could be the missing piece to their championship puzzle. For now, it does look like the Celtics have got the short end of the stick in this deal, but no one can predict the long-term impact of these big trades. Only time will tell how this pans out for the team.
