    Is OG Anunoby Playing Tonight? Latest Injury Update On Knicks Star’s Return in Game 1 vs Cavaliers (May 19)

    New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby’s injury status is a key concern for the team ahead of their showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the conference finals. Anunoby suffered a right hamstring strain in the Knicks’ conference semis Game 2 win on May 6. He missed Games 3 and 4, but New York swept Philadelphia despite his absence.

    Anunoby’s hamstring strain wasn’t severe, but the Knicks opted to rest him. It’s worked in their favor as he could return on Tuesday night. According to the Knicks’ latest injury report, Anunoby is listed as probable to suit up. That means he’s 75% likely to lineup for the series opener.

    It’s a massive boost for the team, given that Anunoby has been their second-best player and second-highest scorer. Anunoby has averaged 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals in eight games. He’s shooting 61.9% from the field and 53.8% from 3-point range.

    While the Knicks remain the favorites, the Cavaliers are a more challenging opponent than the Hawks and 76ers. They will need all their resources to close this series, and Anunoby is unquestionably one of their most decisive players due to his two-way play.

    OG Anunoby has averaged 13.2 ppg and 4.5 rpg in 27 games against the Cavaliers. He’s shot 48.4% from the field, including 40.0% from 3-point range. Anunoby played three games between the Knicks and Cavaliers this season. He averaged 12.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg and 1.0 spg, shooting 42.4% from the field and 31.6% from deep.

    The Knicks went 2-1 in those games. Ahead of Tuesday’s clash, Anunoby is favored to score under 15.5 points and grab over 5.5 rebounds.
