    LaMelo Ball was involved in a major car accident ahead of Thursday’s contest against the Houston Rockets. The Charlotte Hornets guard rammed his Hummer into another car on Wednesday afternoon. Fortunately for Ball, he escaped the accident without any injuries and was spotted leaving in a Lamborghini. He’s not on the Hornets injury report and should be available.

    However, the other driver in the Kia sedan was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

     

    Ball has missed 10 games this season with injuries. He has dealt with ankle and wrist ailments, but has been healthy since mid-December, playing the past 29 consecutive games.

    The Hornets entered the All-Star break on a 10-1 run, improving to 26-29. LaMelo Ball played a crucial role, averaging 18.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.8 assists, shooting 37.5% from 3-point range. He was a plus-minus +11.1 in that stretch, tied for the second-highest alongside Moussa Diabate.

The Hornets won that clash 109-99 on the road.

    Ahead of Thursday’s rematch, Ball is projected to record over 20.6 points, over 7.1 assists and make fewer than 3.4 3-pointers.
