Jimmy Butler was recently spotted on a soccer field after he was sidelined midseason due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He suffered the injury against his former team, the Miami Heat, in January. Recently, he was seen attending a soccer game between the San Diego Wave FC and the Chicago Stars on March 29, in which the Wave FC registered a 2-0 win. Fans could not help but rave about his return to the NBA.
The Heat forward, who is also a minority owner of the NWSL club, was seen supporting the team from the stands with his family. After his team’s win, Butler even tried a team swimming celly with Melanie Barcenas. A fan posted the video on X and wrote:
“Jimmy Butler learning the celly after the #SDvsCHI game”
NBA fans were delighted to see Jimmy Butler healthy, enjoying his time away from the court. He underwent knee surgery in February, but his maneuvers impressed fans.
One even referred to Jayson Tatum’s early return to the court after he was speculated to miss the entire season due to an Achilles tendon tear, and hoped that Butler, too, could pull off an early return. The user wrote:
“He got up pretty fast here He might pull a Jayson Tatum next season ngl”
Another highlighted that he looked healthy in the first instance and wrote:
“Omg he has no cane and he got up pretty quickly off the ground”
Several other fans also expressed their happiness to see the NBA star. Since he went out of the team’s rotation, the Warriors have fallen to 10th in the Western Conference and are set to go through play-ins.
The Warriors stumble to play-ins without Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry
The Golden State Warriors suffered a rough patch in the regular season, as both Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry were ousted from the team. The superstar guard was diagnosed with runner’s knee and is still waiting to be part of the roster.
The Warriors are placed 10th in the Western Conference and look to feature in the play-ins to grab a playoff spot. However, if they hope to pass the test, probably against the Portland Trail Blazers, the team would need the services of the elite guard. They have won the last three games now and will face the Denver Nuggets next on March 29.
