Patrick Beverley and Barstool Sports got tangled in a controversial situation last year when Bev’s younger sister pressed domestic assault charges against him. The former NBA player was one of the hosts of the Pat Bev podcast, alongside Adam ‘Rone’ Ferrone, but was sidelined after the controversial charges against him. However, even after the charges were lifted, he did not return to the panel, which gave rise to several doubts.
It all resurfaced when the former Clipper once again got back on the mic. He released the first episode of Pat Bev Show and talked about several nuances of the controversial incident. In response, his former co-host, Ferrone, said that Beverley misrepresented what happened. He added:
“I know that Pat Bev is misrepresenting what happened, and he knows that he is not telling the whole truth about the situation, but what I said to him, when I reached out to him, I wish him nothing but the best.”
Former NBA player Jason Williams also talked about the situation and added that the two were “homies.” He said that he didn’t know Bev the best, but he was surprised when the former Buck left the podcast team and went overseas. But what actually happened between the two?
Patrick Beverley and the drama around Barstool Sports
Patrick Beverley is known for his controversial takes, and that personality got even stronger when he was charged with domestic assault by his sister Mya in November, 2025. In the aftermath, the Barstool Sports owner, Dave Portnoy, stated that he was “taking forced time away” after his arrest for a felony.
Beverley talked about that incident in his recent appearance and said:
“So I get a call through this whole case process, I wasn’t able to post anything with Barstool until everything was over with… come back when you have your s–t in order, right? Come back when you’re not hot-type vibes, and I understood it.”
A month after the arrest, all charges were dropped against Beverley due to insufficient evidence. However, in the video, he made it clear that the media company had no intention of proceeding with Patrick Beverley as part of Barstool Sports. Both sides have asserted that there were no hard feelings, and Bev will now be back with hot takes, this time, on his own YouTube channel.
