Kelly Flagg delivered a brutal response to a troll who claimed her son, Cooper Flagg, is a ‘dogshit’ and that his rookie season shouldn’t be considered in the same breath as LeBron James.
The Dallas Mavericks wrapped up the season’s final back-to-back in Phoenix on Wednesday evening. Unfortunately, they fell once again, losing 112-107. It was not Flagg’s best game for Dallas, but he was still one of the better players on the court. While as threatening as ever, the 19-year-old struggled on the offensive end, finishing with just 11 points on 4-of-19 shooting. However, he recorded a career-best 11 rebounds.
While many fans have been considerate of Flagg’s performance, one let his frustrations show by saying:
“Cooper Flagg so dogshit. People really wanna compare him to rookie LeBron? He’s only good against bottom of the barrel teams. F**k you, bum.”
The Mavs rookie’s mom wasted no time firing back, giving the fan a taste of his own medicine with a fiery reply:
“Are you kidding? Played with a sprained wrist and still posted a double double. Playing with a bunch of guys that spent most of the season in the G-League. They played their hearts out and almost beat a team that they had no business being even close to. Gthoh bum”

Flagg has played a lot of basketball over the last few months, and it appears the workload may be catching up to him. He did not look like his usual self and struggled to keep up with the pace of the game. Dallas was also heavily shorthanded, with as many as five key players sitting out.
Despite being a rookie, Cooper Flagg leads the team in points and steals, averaging 21.2 PPG and 1.2 SPG on a rebuilding, injury-depleted Mavericks team that holds the sixth-worst record at 25-55. They have two games left in the 2025-26 regular season. The team will play again on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs before closing the season with a clash against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
Is there much doubt about Cooper Flagg’s Rookie of the Year debate?
The first overall pick from last June has been nothing short of outstanding since joining the Dallas Mavericks. His play on both ends of the floor has been more than impressive. He has made monumental leaps in his development in just six months, and he’s committed to giving his all on the defensive end as well.
He set the league record as the youngest player ever to record a 50-point outing. Many fans and pundits have compared his rookie season to LeBron James. He has all the tools to become a true difference-maker for the Mavericks during this transitional season for the franchise.
He also leads all rookies in points with 21.0 per game, ranks second in assists with 4.6 per game, and is third in rebounds with 6.7. He also ranks second in blocks and steals across 67 starts and has set multiple league records along the way. Things will take time to progress, and fans must continue to be patient as Dallas works through these growing pains.
