Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans Preview and Prediction

The Golden State Warriors came out of the All-Star break with a tough 121-110 loss to the Boston Celtics. It was not the start they wanted, but they quickly turned things around. To close out their homestand, the Warriors delivered an impressive win over the Denver Nuggets, bouncing back in a big way.

Even though they were extremely shorthanded without Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, Kristaps Porzingis, and Draymond Green, Golden State stepped up. Brandin Podziemski led the charge with a near triple-double, finishing with 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists. His all-around effort helped power the Warriors to a 128-117 victory over Denver.

The New Orleans Pelicans have followed a similar path. They dropped their first game after the break, falling 139-118 to the Milwaukee Bucks on February 20. However, they responded the very next night with an impressive 126-111 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The previous two matchups between these teams have not been particularly competitive. The Warriors took both meetings earlier in the season, winning 124-106 on November 16 and 104-96 on November 29.

Heading into the final meeting of the season, Golden State appears to have the advantage based on overall roster strength and current form.

Prediction: Expect the Warriors to win by 8 points.
