Golden State Warriors vs LA Clippers Odds, Prediction, Starting Lineups With Heavy NBA Playoff Implications (Apr. 12)

The Golden State Warriors take on the LA Clippers in their season finale Sunday night. It could be a Play-In preview. The Warriors are locked into the Play-In Tournament as the No. 10 seed, while the Clippers are tied with the Portland Trail Blazers at 41-40 after losing the tiebreaker advantage.

Over the past several seasons, the Clippers have earned their stripes and learned how to win against the Warriors. In the last 12 matchups, Golden State has only won two. The last time the two teams met was on March 2, when the Clippers won 114-101 behind Kawhi Leonard’s 23 points.

Golden State Warriors vs LA Clippers Preview & Playoff Implications

As has been the case over the past two years, Golden State looks to take the hard route to reach the postseason. The Warriors sealed their position a long time ago as the No. 10 seed after going 9-18 without star guard Steph Curry during his injury absence.

The Warriors are on a two-game losing streak. It last played on Friday and suffered a 124-118 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Brandin Podziemski posted a career-first 30-point outing, while De’Anthony Melton added 17 points.

While the Warriors didn’t look good in those losses, their depleted roster had a hand in that. Even a loss against the Clippers on Sunday won’t affect the Warriors much, as they will mostly treat this game as preparation ahead of the Play-In Tournament.

This is a crucial game for the Clippers, as the eighth seed in the West is still within reach. But for that to happen, the Clippers need a win tonight and Portland needs to lose against the Sacramento Kings. It is not very likely that the Kings get the job done against the Trail Blazers, but it is not impossible. Thus, the Clippers will likely want a win to stay out of having to play two Play-In games.
