Giannis Antetokounmpo Plot Thickens With Myles Turner After Confusing IG Post Emerges

Milwaukee Bucks center Myles Turner’s comments regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo and the team’s tardiness under coach Doc Rivers drew attention over the weekend.

Speaking to Breanna Stewart on the “Game Recognize Game” podcast, Turner shared how the Bucks’ players would be lax about the timings of different team events, singling out Antetokounmpo.

“It got to the point where I knew not to show up until an hour after they said the plane was going to take off… Giannis is going to show up whenever he wants,” Turner said.

On Friday, Giannis shared pictures on social media that show him shooting around in the gym with his son. He captioned the post:

“Another day getting better and minding our business.”

The timing of the post and Antetokounmpo’s caption led to fans claiming that he was replying to Myles Turner’s comments. Others suggested that Giannis could be reacting to all the trade rumors surrounding him.

An Instagram post from Bucks fan @timebombtimmah is going viral on social media. The fan shared a picture with Antetokounmpo and replied to Turner’s claims in the comments section:

“As someone who’s ALWAYS at the airport, I don’t know what Myles was saying that Giannis was HOURS late! This isn’t true.”

Fans shared the claim on social media and speculated whether Turner’s comments were exaggerated. Antetokounmpo also reshared the fan’s picture on his Instagram story.

Bucks forward Bobby Portis was also left surprised by Turner’s comments and reacted with a post on X.

    “Damn this AI?” Portis wrote.

While fans continue to speculate, neither Myles Turner nor Giannis Antetokounmpo has publicly addressed the situation.

After Giannis Antetokounmpo, Myles Turner could be next on the Bucks’ trade list

The Milwaukee Bucks’ direction for the future depends on whether Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the roster ahead of the 2026-27 season. According to a report from ESPN, a decision on the Greek Freak’s future could be made in the coming weeks.

“Sometime over the next six or seven weeks, we’ll decide whether Giannis is going to sign a max contract and stay with us or he’s going to play somewhere else,” Jimmy Haslam told reporters. “And [general manager] Jon [Horst] and Taylor, along with [co-owner] Wes [Edens] and myself, will make that call, and we understand the gravity of that call.”

If the Bucks trade Antetokounmpo, it might not make sense for the team to retain Myles Turner in the event of a complete rebuild. The Bucks brought Turner in as a win-now piece to pair next to Giannis, signing him to a four-year, $108 million deal. He will be under contract for the next two seasons with a player option for 2028-29.

So, if Antetokounmpo is traded, it would make sense for the Bucks to cash in on Turner while they can and prepare for a full rebuild. The 30-year-old can impact both ends of the floor and could help the Bucks land draft capital in a trade. He played 71 games last season, recording 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.
