“Giannis Is Addicted To Controlling Narratives Just Like LeBron”: Fans React As Giannis Antetokounmpo Seemingly Responds To Myles Turner’s Accusations With Telling New Photos

A social media post from Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was interpreted by some as a response to his teammate, Myles Turner. Turner recently alleged that Giannis showed up to team events “whenever he wants.”

Turner’s comment was part of a broader answer in which he described the culture shock he received over Doc Rivers and his staff’s lax attitude toward the players’ tardiness.

“Giannis. Giannis is going to show up whenever he wants, really,” Turner said while speaking to Breanna Stewart on her “Game Recognize Game” podcast. “I think that this kind of just came with the territory that — and once I saw it was going down, I was like, ‘Hey man, s—, more power to you. They ain’t going to fine you. S—, do what you do.’”

Myles Turner continued, addressing what he described as a different team culture.

“Any other team I’ve been on, guys got fined. And there was a sense of order and a sense of understanding,” Turner said on the podcast. “So yeah, you’re late to the plane? Fine. You’re late to treatment? Fine. You’re late to film? Fine. But I personally did not experience that last year for the first time in my career. So we’ll see what Taylor Jenkins does, our new coach.”

Antetokounmpo shared photos and videos of himself shooting around in the gym with his son on Friday and captioned them:

“Another day getting better and minding our business.”

X account @itsjwills claimed that Antetokounmpo’s post was seemingly a reply to Turner.

Some Fans noted the post’s caption and reacted on X, criticizing Antetokounmpo. Here are the most noteworthy reactions:

“Giannis is addicted to controlling narratives just Iike LeBron lol I believe Myles and I say no wonder and also thanks for validating everything we’ve said about Mr Doc,” one fan said.

“This post doesn’t mean you’re not late all the time. You lost your way. Used to be the first one at practice and last one to leave,” another fan wrote.

“Giannis being late to the team plane literally is Myles Turner’s business. The Greek education system failed this man,” a fan wrote.

Some fans also came to Antetokounmpo’s defense in the comments section:

“I like Myles, but that was stupid to say, even talking on Doc, he is gone, leave the details, brother,” one fan wrote.

“It takes serious cahones (and a certain degree of stupidity) to throw the second most valuable Buck of all time under the bus when you yourself have proven to be a waste of millions of dollars and cap space,” a fan commented

Milwaukee Bucks give timeline on Giannis Antetokounmpo decision ahead of 2026 NBA Draft

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Bucks owner Jimmy Haslam gave a timeline on when the Bucks will decide on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the team.

“Sometime over the next six or seven weeks, we’ll decide whether Giannis is going to sign a max contract and stay with us or he’s going to play somewhere else,” Haslam said. “And [general manager] Jon [Horst] and Taylor, along with [co-owner] Wes [Edens] and myself, will make that call, and we understand the gravity of that call.”

The trade saga surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo has been ongoing since May last year after he expressed being “open” to playing for someone other than the Bucks. Milwaukee explored trade options ahead of last season’s trade deadline and is expected to review more offers in the coming days.

The Bucks got the No. 10 pick in the upcoming draft after going 32-50 in the 2025-26 season. Antetokounmpo played 36 games, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.
