Is Giannis Antetokounmpo Playing Tonight? Bucks List Star on Injury Report vs. Spurs

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been under the spotlight lately, as the Milwaukee Bucks have had an on-and-off regular season thus far. Moreover, in a blowout loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the last game, the Bucks’ superstar was booed by his own home crowd. The team’s issues might have just exacerbated, as the Bucks have listed him in their latest injury report.

In the latest injury report release by the NBA, the Bucks have listed the Greek Freak as ‘Probable’ due to a left ankle sprain. That might increase the team’s worries after a brutal 106-139 takedown at the hands of the Wolves.

Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the franchise with 29.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. His presence gives the team confidence and energy on both sides of the court. In the Bucks’ last win against the LA Lakers, he had a clutch steal to seal the game in the final moments.

The Bucks’ next opponent, the San Antonio Spurs, on the other hand, looks healthy and ready to make a deep playoff run. Only Devin Vassell remains ‘Out’ on the injury list from the main roster due to Left Adductor strain. The NBA in-season tournament champions have had a completely different season than the Bucks.

The team began the 2025-26 regular season with five consecutive wins. The combination of the reigning Rookie of the Year, Stephon Castle, and last year’s first overall pick, Victor Wembanyama, has worked at all fronts.

Even though De’Aaron Fox’s production has dipped compared to the previous few seasons with the Sacramento Kings, he has added some crucial buckets in times of need. Moreover, he enjoyed a lot more time with the ball in his previous team.

It will be interesting to see how the Bucks plan to contain the 7-foot-4 Wemby without Giannis. Here are the probable starting 5s for the two teams:

The Bucks’ starting lineup without Giannis Antetokounmpo

Starting guard: Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins

Backup guards: Gary Trent Jr., Gary Harris, and Amir Koffey

Starting forwards: AJ Green and Bobby Portis

Backup forwards: Cole Anthony, Kyle Kuzma, and Andre Jackson Jr.

    Starting Center: Myles Turner

    Backup Center: Jericho Sims

    The Spurs’ starting lineup

Starting guard: De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle

Backup guards: Dylan Harper and Lindy Waters lll

Starting forwards: Julian Champagnie and Harrison Barnes

Backup forwards: Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, and Kelly Olynyk

    Starting Center: Victor Wembanyama

Backup Centers: Myles Turner and Bismack Biyombo
