“Draymond Gonna Break His Leg”: Fans Troll Steve Kerr After Saying They Had Plan for Victor Wembanya Who Dazzled Against Warriors

Steve Kerr’s hobbled Golden State Warriors hosted Victor Wembanyama and the rampaging San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Heading into the game, Kerr said that they had a plan to slow down the MVP contender but refused to give details.

However, the 7-foot-4 Frenchman dazzled, finishing the game with 41 points, 18 rebounds, three assists and three blocks. For good measure, he didn’t commit a turnover in 29 minutes, prompting fans to troll the multi-titled coach.

    One fan wrote:

“Draymond is gonna break his leg.”

    Another fan added:

“Steve Kerr just set himself up for failure.”

    One more fan continued:

“This quote is actually so f**king hilarious. I’m actually crying.”

    Another fan commented:

“How did that work out, Steve? … I’m sure Wemby wants you to do the same thing each time you all play them.”

    One fan tweeted:

“Maybe the game plan was for the second half.”

Victor Wembanyama made 16 of 22 shots, including 2 of 6 from behind the arc. Draymond Green almost had no chance against him. Whatever game plan Steve Kerr had prepared, it didn’t work against the Spurs’ All-Star center.

The Spurs got off to a fast start behind Wembanyama’s sizzling opening quarter. He already had 17 points and nine rebounds after 10 minutes and pushed San Antonio to a 35-26 advantage after one quarter. He finished with 27 points and 13 rebounds at the break to give his team a 70-49 lead.

Draymond Green, Omer Yurtseven and Malevy Leons struggled to contain San Antonio’s franchise cornerstone, who looks to win the MVP.

Steve Kerr’s Warriors Have Lost by Almost the Same Score in Back-To-Back Games to Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs

In mid-February, the Golden State Warriors also hosted the San Antonio Spurs at the Chase Center. A balanced attack by the Dubs, led by Draymond Green’s 17 points and 12 rebounds, wasn’t enough to hold off the Spurs.

Steve Kerr’s defensive plan was effective, holding Victor Wembanyama to 26 points, but the Spurs walked away with a 126-113 win. De’Aaron Fox’s 27 points on 11-for-16 shooting were a key reason in San Antonio’s win.

In the rematch on Wednesday, the Spurs won again, 127-113. This time, Wemby imposed his will on the home team. Fox contributed 11 points, four assists and four rebounds as San Antonio beat Golden State by almost the same score.
