“Don’t Have Time for Negativity”: Cooper Flagg’s Mom Makes Major Admission About Mavs Fans

Cooper Flagg has been a phenomenon in the NBA thus far in his rookie season, and her mother, Kelly Flagg, has been alongside him the entire time. She often interacts with fans on social media and defends the 2025 first overall pick’s interests. Recently, she expressed her thoughts on a meme that reflected on Flagg’s upbringing.

A fan posted a meme on X, claiming that the Maine native played basketball in freezing temperatures on snow-covered courts. The caption read:

“They are saying this is how Coop trained in Maine”

Cooper’s mom, Kelly, replied to the post on X and clarified how the rookie played in her hometown:

“He would shovel out the little area for the court though. Lol”

In return, the user hailed Kelly for responding to fans on public platforms:

“I love that you’re on here and interacting with us”

    Kelly replied:

“I only interact with fans who seem nice.
I don’t have time for negativity”

Kelly Flagg has even earlier criticized Cooper’s rivals on X and posted some questionable takes on Luka Doncic and LeBron James. After that, she locked her X profile, limiting users from seeing her posts.

Meanwhile, Cooper Flagg has been out due to a midfoot sprain and might be tested soon to return to the roster. The team has caught its breath after losing 10 games in a row, after it won the last two. And the 2026 Rookie of the Year fight is getting more intense.

Kon Knueppel catches up to Cooper Flagg in ROTY battle

This week, Kon Knueppel has finally taken over Cooper Flagg on the Rookie of the Year ladder after the Mavs’ rookie’s prolonged absence due to a left foot injury. Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets’ rookie has been on fire from deep, scoring the fastest 200 points by a rookie in the NBA.

Knueppel is second, only to Keegan Murray (206), in most made threes by an NBA player in his rookie season (201). All this has culminated in a serious comeback fight from the Hornets, who are placed 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 12-3 run.

Flagg would have his eyes on the race to become another contender for the next face of the league race by winning the Rookie of the Year award among a stacked group of youngsters, including VJ Edgecombe, Derik Queen, and Maxime Raynaud.

While nursing a sprained foot, the Mavericks rookie was also seen spending time at his alma mater with other talented college youngsters and his college buddy Knueppel.
