The last game in the Rivals week of the NBA was between the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers, a battle of top overall picks, Cooper Flagg, Luka Doncic, and Deandre Ayton. However, the tussle allegedly began before the game on X, and even Cooper’s former athlete mother, Kelly Flagg, was also involved.
Kelly, who primarily raised her son Cooper, has locked her profile on X after she received criticism from fans for her earlier posts on X. A user even claimed that she followed “brain dead MAGA account” and didn’t want others to find:
“Kelly Flagg locking her profile so we can’t see her weird ass retweets or all the brain dead MAGA accounts she follows. Ma’am don’t you have an ice storm to prepare for and children to feed?”
Another user stated that Cooper’s mother reposted posts related to Luka Doncic and LeBron James, and that’s why she might have locked her account:
“She reposted videos showing LeBron dismissing fans and another showing them talk about how the league has flopping with discussion on Luka.”
Kelly Flagg’s account, which currently has 6,884 followers, is still locked on X. She was also there at the American Airlines Center in the last game to support her son, who had an underwhelming night with 16 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
On the other hand, the former Mav Doncic scored 33 points, eight rebounds, and 11 assists and led the Lakers back to winning ways.
Cooper Flagg has had a Rookie of the Year campaign thus far
Cooper Flagg has led the race for Rookie of the Year this year, averaging 18.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. He leads the franchise in points after Anthony Davis was sidelined due to a left finger sprain.
Before the loss to the Lakers, the Mavs were riding a 4-game winning streak on the back of Cooper Flagg and Naji Marshall’s awesome season. With the Mavs continuously featuring in trade talks, the front office is looking to build around the young star in the coming seasons.
The Mavs are still in 12th place in the Western Conference, but they have a talented young core, including Marshall, Flagg, Max Christie, Ryan Nembhard, and others.
