Did NBA Suspend Isaiah Stewart For Rest of The Season For Attacking Miles Bridges? Debunking Viral Rumor

Isaiah Stewart has been in the spotlight over the past few days, and not for the kind of reason any player hopes for. During the Detroit Pistons’ Feb. 9 matchup against the Charlotte Hornets, Stewart found himself in the middle of a heated scuffle that quickly escalated. The incident ended with Stewart and three other players being ejected from the game.

A few days later, things took another turn when a post on social media began circulating, claiming the league had handed Stewart a major punishment. The post, shared by X user @PlayBracco, alleged that Stewart had been suspended for the rest of the season.

“BREAKING: Ishiah Stewart has been suspended the rest of the season by the NBA,” the account reported.

The social media activity went viral, racking up nearly 500,000 views in under three hours. However, the report is untrue. The post appears to be fabricated, with no official statement from the NBA, the team, or any credible reporters confirming such a suspension.

However, considering Isaiah Stewart’s history of on-court altercations, it would not be surprising if the league decided to take strict actions. He has been involved in numerous heated brawls across his career. While a season-long suspension appears to be less likely, a multi-game suspension could very well be on the cards.

NBA insider predicts punishment for Isaiah Stewart

NBA insider Bobby Marks chimed in on the discussions regarding the infamous Isaiah Stewart incident. With Stewart having been involved in four major physical altercations since 2021, Marks pointed out that his history could play a major role in whatever punishment comes next.

“We aren’t going to see Isaiah Stewart for a very long time,” Marks wrote on X. “Repeater offender status will certainly come into play.”

Later in the day, Marks expanded on that thought during an appearance on ESPN’s NBA Today. He gave a clearer idea of how long Stewart could be sidelined, suggesting a suspension of at least 10 games was a realistic possibility.

“When you talk about what’s happened in the past, I think Isaiah Stewart [will be suspended] 10 games.”

Isaiah Stewart is set to earn $15 million this season. If he were suspended for 10 games, that would cost him roughly $1.8 million in lost salary.
