LeBron James’ decision to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers has come with several repercussions. One of those has been the fans’ criticism of his alleged desperation to win a title, as the Philadelphia 76ers look like one of the most stacked teams next season. Former NBA player and coach Derek Fisher expressed his thoughts on the allegations of “ring chasing” against James.
Fisher, who won five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, didn’t believe that James was chasing rings, saying that he was one of the players who creates title chances. The former player-turned-analyst said:
“You’re not ring chasing when you’re the guy that creates the rings. Go back in NBA sports history; it’s not about what team the guy is on, it’s about where he is, not the city or the team.”
Fisher also compared James to former legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and said that the six-time NBA champion didn’t chase rings, “where he went the rings followed.”
The 76ers are undoubtedly one of the favorites for next season in an easier Eastern Conference.

Magic Johnson shared a post after the 76ers signed LeBron James to a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option. While he congratulated the franchise on signing the most experienced player in the league, the Lakers legend also raised some crucial questions about next season.
Johnson wrote:
“Philly’s starting lineup will have four All Stars, LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey, and offensively they will be great. But all four are used to having the ball in their hands, so I’m interested to see what type of offense Coach Nurse draws up.
“I have two big questions for Philly: one is on the defensive end, and two is their team chemistry. If they answer those two… watch out!”
Though VJ Edgecombe is one of the most active defenders on the floor, four offensive engines, who rarely play defense, might create a problem for the starting lineup. Though Brown and Maxey have good hands as on-ball defenders, Joel Embiid and James are not known for their defense.
Though all four stars revel with the ball in their hands, Brown and Embiid can explore playing off the ball. They can create their own shots and play with the feed from Maxey or James.
