Keeping Ahead of Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic And More, Carmelo Anthony Names This Player As Best Point Guard

There are some great talents in the NBA right now, especially in the point guard position. The first name that comes up is Stephen Curry. The other obvious names are Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Ja Morant, and Tyrese Haliburton. After the all-time greats like Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, and John Stockton, there have been a lot of changes in the game, including the role of a point guard.

Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, who played all his career as a forward, recently discussed some of the in-form point guards in the league right now. On his podcast, Carmelo Anthony talked about Doncic, Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham, and Tyrese Maxey.

Melo spoke about every star player and mentioned how good they are. The names obviously included Stephen Curry. Melo shared who’s the best in the league according to him. His opinion might surprise some.

He picked Brunson over everybody else as the best point guard in the NBA right now. Melo talked about JB’s size, impact, presence, and manipulation of the game.

“I said this earlier. He’s one of the most consistent guys in the NBA. F*ck point guard, of all everybody,” Melo said. “Shai is another one of those guys who is very consistent. He’s going to get his 30 like and he’s going to do it the same way and you can’t do nothing about it. That’s the hardest thing. But you can’t do nothing about him getting a 30.”

He also mentioned that Cade Cunningham and Tyrese Maxey are two players who are fun to watch and are still improving their performances. He added that they are on their way to becoming two of the best point guards in the league.

Jalen Brunson’s Season so far with the New York Knicks

Picking Jalen Brunson as the best point guard in the league is honestly not much of a stretch right now, as things stand. Obviously, it is Carmelo Anthony making that claim, so there is certainly some value behind it. However, the stats also favor Jalen Brunson, as he has been outstanding so far.
