Caitlin Clark Drops Massive Verdict on NBA’s Best Player Debate Amid Tense Battle At Summit

As the MVP race for the 2025-2026 season heats up, Caitlin Clark shared her thoughts on the battle for the Michael Jordan Trophy, and it’s clear who she’s rooting for. The WNBA superstar spoke highly of Nikola Jokic, hinting that he’s her pick to take home the award.

Ahead of Sunday’s matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets, Clark made an appearance on the NBC/Peacock pregame broadcast. She highlighted Jokic’s incredible season, pointing out how quickly he returned from injury and how he’s once again averaging a triple-double.

Clark didn’t hold back when talking about how much she enjoys watching him play, while indirectly placing him above other MVP contenders like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, and Luka Doncic.

“There’s not many people that average a triple-double,” Clark said. “You’re lucky enough to get maybe a couple of those in a season. He’s done it all year long, in back-to-back years. It’s pretty incredible. Honestly, he’s probably my favorite player to watch and I think he’s the best player in the world.”

Not long after Caitlin Clark’s comments, Nikola Jokic backed it up on the court. He put up a 25-point, 15-rebound, and 8-assist near triple-double, as the Nuggets cruised to a 116-93 win and extended their winning streak to six games.

“Kaitlin has more balls than every MVP voter… she’s not afraid of any establishment backlash, just speaks the truth whether you like it or not!” @dgv1133 said.

“she’s right .. Jokic has been the best player in the world since 2021,” @MdgAndres10 said.

The moment gained so much traction that Jokic himself was eventually asked about Clark’s comments. In typical Jokic fashion, he brushed it off with a bit of humor and downplayed the praise.

“We have the same agent,” Jokic said. “That’s why she said it.”

So far this season, Jokic has been putting up 27.9 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.8 assists per game. Despite those numbers, he currently sits third on the latest MVP ladder, behind Victor Wembanyama and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
