The Miami Heat slipped up by leaking news related to LeBron James’ future in the league on YouTube. Earlier, the team reportedly scheduled an introductory press conference with the four-time NBA champion before his free agency decision. And now, the team has seemingly put out a recruitment notice for a director of YouTube strategy, and fans have made multiple speculations.
The Heat are one of the frontrunners to land King James this offseason after he announced his decision to test free agency. The Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers are also heavily rumored to be his next destination. However, the Heat’s YouTube team might have mistakenly revealed the final decision.
After the team posted the notice for a new director of YouTube strategy, fans did not hold their thoughts, with one commenting:
“Klutch Sports vans surrounded bros residence.”
Another user believed that the team lost on the signing:
“It’s too late now. Miami lost LeBron because of THIS”
One user had a theory:
“They probably fired him beforehand so he leaked that as payback lol.”
This user suggested the final sentence:
“Thank you for your service.”
One user stated that the leak might have had some material in it:
“That would be hilarious if connected but also tell me that LeBron is going to the Heat because nobody is getting fired for that unless it was actually a leak.”
Considering NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s desperation over James’ decision, keeping the news under wraps while things have been finalized doesn’t look ideal. Moreover, the Cavaliers reportedly have a big case for the veteran forward. The final announcement is still pending.
Rich Paul Says He Doesn’t Know When LeBron James Will Announce His Decision
Featuring on ESPN, Rich Paul delved into LeBron James’ decision and stated that the forward “has earned the right not to be rushed.” However, on the question of when he would make the call, he said:
“I don’t know.”
Though James has some good offers on the table, he has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to end his career at home with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that drafted him in 2003.
On the other hand, the Heat and the 76ers have some alluring combinations, considering the superstar is searching for his fifth title.
