Brooklyn Nets vs Golden State Warriors Prediction, Injury Reports and Starting Lineups Tonight (Mar. 25)

The Golden State Warriors are back at home for two games inside the Chase Center, starting with a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. The Warriors are in must-win mode with only 10 games left in the season. Currently 1.5 games behind the ninth-place Portland Trail Blazers and 2.0 games behind the eighth-place LA Clippers, the Dubs need to make up ground and this game is one they simply can’t afford to lose.

The two teams have played each other 102 times in the regular season, with the Warriors holding a 60-42 lead. This will be their second and final meeting this season, with Golden State leading the series. The Warriors have also won four of the last five regular season matchups between the two teams.

They last played on Dec. 29, when the Warriors won 120-107 behind Steph Curry’s 27 points. Brooklyn was led by Michael Porter, who also scored 27 points.

Brooklyn Nets vs Golden State Warriors Preview

Can the Nets end the season with some grace?

The Nets are on a downward spiral, having lost eight of their last ten games, including a 134-99 drubbing at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday. Jordi Fernandez’s team has been outscored in most of those games, except for a matchup against the Knicks. Their last victory came against the Memphis Grizzlies on March 9.

Brooklyn is out of playoff contention with a 17-55 record and sits 13th in the East. Next up is the draft lottery, where the team will hope to land the No. 1 pick. That would allow them to pair standout players like Michael Porter Jr. and Nic Claxton with a young core to compete at a higher level next season.

Warriors Aim to Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

The Warriors, on the other hand, have no time to lick their wounds after going 2-8 in their last 10 games. They looked set to extend their losing streak to four games, but a late effort saw them outlast the Dallas Mavericks in overtime with a 137-131 win on Monday. Moses Moody led the team with 23 points before going down with a season-ending knee injury, while Kristaps Porzingis had 22 points and Brandin Podziemski added 20.

There have been a number of factors contributing to the Warriors’ recent free fall, but injuries have been the main culprit, plaguing the team all season. Their playoff push was always an ambitious goal, so expect them to pick up the pace as they look to reestablish momentum and maintain their grip on a play-in spot.

Brooklyn Nets vs Golden State Warriors Prediction

Despite both teams going 2-8 in their last 10 games, the Warriors have had a marginally better overall season. The oddsmakers favor them to secure consecutive wins after a long drought, with the total expected to go past 215 points. Overall, the Warriors need to win this game to stay within reach of the final play-in spot. The Dubs must protect their lead when they have it and stay in the driver’s seat.
