“Bronny Is a Benchwarmer at Best”: Fans React to Bronny James’ Sizzling Shooting Against Worst Western Conference Team

LA Lakers guard Bronny James hit a 27-footer late in the third quarter against the Utah Jazz on Sunday. James’ triple was his third in four attempts, prompting reactions from fans.

    One fan wrote:

“If his last name wasn’t James, he’d be playing in China, or the G League. Bronny is a benchwarmer at best.”

    Another fan added:

“11 points in a blowout and people acting like he’s an All-Star lol. Purest case of nepotism in sports history.”

    One more fan continued:

    “Cooking the Jazz.”

    Another fan commented:

“In garbage time? We really doing this?”

    One fan tweeted:

“Once he sees those g league names, he start cooking.”

Fans have been criticizing the two-year guard for his struggles, particularly against better opposition than the Jazz. James’ poor shooting, errors and lack of playmaking skills have been highlighted over the past two weeks. Now that he’s doing well against the team with the worst record (22-59) in the Western Conference, most people continue to roast him.

Against the Jazz, who only had one regular starter (Ace Bailey) in the lineup, Bronny James had a good showing. He ended the game with 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting, including 3-of-4 from deep in 19 minutes. Still, most fans couldn’t hold back from mocking him for doing well against a struggling team.

Bronny James’ G League Season Is Over

As usual, Bronny James has been splitting time between the LA Lakers and the team’s G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. The 6-foot-2 guard has been a key contributor to South Bay’s success, helping the team to a 26-10 record, the best in the Western Conference.

However, once the playoffs started, James was kept out of G League action. South Bay eked past the San Diego Clippers 122-119 in the first round before dominating the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 112-97 in the semis.

Bronny James was in the NBA when South Bay lost 101-97 to the Stockton Kings in the Western Conference finals.

With South Bay on vacation, James could focus on helping the hobbled LA Lakers’ playoff campaign. It remains to be seen, though, if he will see action even with Austin Reaves (oblique) and Luka Doncic (hamstring) sidelined to start the first round of the postseason.
