“Boos Are Just Love in Disguise”: Unbothered Draymond Green Takes a Dig at “Miserable” Atlanta Fans

Draymond Green continued his trolling of Atlanta Hawks fans on Monday, taking another shot at them in a social media post. The Hawks defeated the Golden State Warriors, 126-110, on Saturday.

During the game, the Warriors’ forward was treated to chants of “Draymond s*cks.” Green responded by intently staring at the Hawks’ banners and appearing visibly unimpressed.

A Threads user @blairhall_ shared a clip of Green from Saturday’s game, saying he doesn’t understand the hate toward the four-time champion. The forward replied to the fan and took another shot at Hawks fans, calling them “miserable.”

“Appreciate you,” Green wrote. “Most of them are miserable with their own lives and projecting out. In an away arena, boos are just love in disguise. Nobody in the world spends that much time on someone or something they hate. Cheers, my man.”

Green also addressed his gesture toward the Hawks’ banners on Monday’s episode of the “Draymond Green Show.”

“You go into these arenas that don’t have … huge fanbases, if you will, and they kind of create this new thing, they kind of create these student sections,” Green said. “And they usually sit pretty high up, and the student section was chanting to me for a while … I just kind of looked up at their banners, the history of their organization, and I just found it hard for them to yell ‘Draymond sucks!’ because I was looking at the history of the organization.”

Green finished with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists in Saturday’s loss. Meanwhile, Dyson Daniels led the Hawks, recording 28 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Draymond Green gives his thoughts on the Warriors potentially making their fourth play-in tournament

The Golden State Warriors have slipped down to 10th in the Western Conference with a 34-38 record. With 10 games left, another play-in berth looks increasingly likely.

Speaking on his podcast, Green addressed the team’s standing, making clear his frustration with the play-in.

“I’m sick of the play-in [tournament],” Green said. “It seems like we’re a play-in magnet. It sucks, but it’s great when you want an opportunity to get into the playoffs. And that is the reality for us. We are not moving out of the play-in, and we won’t drop out of the play-in either. So, we’re in the play-in, and that’s what coach Kerr’s message has been to the team.”

The team will look to get back on track on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets. Draymond Green could receive some help for that matchup as Steph Curry will be reevaluated on Tuesday.
