Draymond Green’s reputation among NBA fans, especially among rival fan bases, isn’t great. He’s often been labelled as dirty due to his on-court altercations and history of unsportsmanlike fouls that have even gotten him suspended in the most crucial moments. One of those instances also occurred in the 2016 NBA finals when Green infamously kicked LeBron James in the groin.
Green only made his case worse on Thursday during the Warriors’ game against the Rockets. The former Defensive Player of the Year was spotted by nearly all of the broadcast’s angles, grabbing Jabari Smith Jr.’s injured right ankle while getting up on an out-of-bounds play. Smith had missed two games after spraining it.
Even the announcers called him out, saying there were cameras everywhere after the referees intervened and whistled him for a technical foul.
Meanwhile, fans didn’t hesitate to label Draymond Green “dirty” again. Here’s how they reacted:
“Nothing new. Dirtiest player in the league,” one fan said.
“This guy needs to be banned from the league he’s just a hit man atp,” another added.
“Suspend him rest of season without pay, it’s really not hard to fix the issue,” one fan wrote.
“Dirtiest player ever,” one fan added.
“Get him out of the league,” another wrote.
Draymond Green leads Warriors to huge win over Rockets
Draymond Green’s incident with Jabari Smith Jr. will be in the news more. That will be unfortunate for him as he played one of his best games to lead the Warriors to a huge win. Playing without Steph Curry and Kristaps Porzingis, Golden State was a massive underdog in this contest.
However, Green ensured they stayed the course on both ends. He organized the team well, especially in the clutch, and, individually, did a phenomenal job of shutting down Kevin Durant to the best of his abilities down the stretch. The Warriors won the game 115-113 in overtime. Green finished with 10 points, five rebounds and eight assists on 4 of 6 shots.
