According to Scott Friedman, prices for the LA Lakers season tickets are reportedly increasing by up to 40% for the 2026-27 season.
Friedman noted the change on X, sharing how his invoice for Lakers season tickets for the 2026-27 season is $7,000 more than what he had been paying for the past decade.
“FYI, I’m a season ticket holder for the past 10 years,” Friedman wrote. “I’m in section 303 row 15, which is the last row. I pay about $15k for 5 tickets and I just got my invoice for next season and it jumped to $22k without warning! $7k increase once Walter took over. Just an FYI to fans, next season prices will be getting a lot more expensive based on this.”
The alleged change comes after Walter’s takeover of the LA Lakers. Walter became a majority owner in the franchise last year after making a deal with the Buss family, reportedly valued at around $10 billion.
LA Lakers’ personnel changes continue under Mark Walter
Since Walter took over, the LA Lakers have seen several changes across the board, starting with the staff. As of 2026, only one member of the Buss family holds an active role in the franchise’s operations.
Jeanie Buss remains the team’s governor, at least for the time being. Her siblings, Joey Buss and Jesse Buss, were removed from their front office positions in 2025. While not a member of the Buss family, Tim Harris is also set to join this list.
Harris, who serves as the Lakers’ president of business operations, has announced his decision to leave the organization at the end of the 2025-26 season. He has been with the franchise for more than three decades.
From new staff to new prices for the Lakers season tickets, Walter is bringing significant changes to the organization. With LeBron James’ contract coming to an end next season, some significant changes for the roster could also be on the horizon.
The team will return to the court on Friday to face the LA Clippers, in what will be the fourth and final Clippers-Lakers game of the 2025-26 season.
