Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Banned From Knicks Finals Courtside Seats Following Cavaliers Appearance? Debunking Viral Claim

Having dispatched of the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games, the New York Knicks are awaiting the winner of the Western Conference Finals. Amid the Knicks’ preparations, a tweet is circulating that a certain power couple won’t be allowed to watch the team up close and personal.

According to the parody account Hoops Crave, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are “reportedly banned from courtside seats” when the 2026 NBA Finals get underway.

However, the tweet is a hoax and the user clarifies in the bio that it’s a parody account not affiliated with the pop culture account Pop Crave.

Back in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the chart-topping pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end were seen in attendance at Rocket Arena. The Cavaliers, however, fell short that night, losing 121-108 to the Knicks en route to getting swept in Game 4.

The couple’s attendance can be explained by the fact that Kelce is a Cleveland Heights native who was extending his support to the beleaguered Cavaliers. Ironically, way before Kelce crossed paths with Swift, the “Opalite” singer had once expressed support for the Knicks. In an interview with TIME back in 2014, Swift said that she’d “always had this sort of love of the Knicks, just because Amar’e [Stoudemire] is so cool.”

Swift and Kelce’s wedding date is rumored to be just a few weeks away, so it remains to be seen whether they’ll pull up at Madison Square Garden when the NBA Finals begin in a week.

“I’d Like to Report a Sweep”: NYC Mayor Trolls Cavaliers After Knicks Complete Sweep of Eastern Conference Finals

Given that New York is a high-profile city, it was only natural that big names would get involved in the discourse after the Knicks swept the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, an unabashed Knicks fan, had some fun on X at the expense of the Cavs following Game 4.

    “@NYCSanitation I’d like to report a sweep”

There’s a good chance, of course, that the mayor will make his presence felt when the NBA Finals emanate from the World’s Most Famous Arena for the first time in 17 years.
