Are Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren Playing Tonight Against Raptors? League Give Crucial Update Amid Suspension Buzz

Detroit Pistons big man duo of Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren are suspended for Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Raptors. Stewart and Duren weren’t on the injury report before the league announced the suspensions at 11:30 am ET. Stewart has been suspended for seven games and Duren for four.

They faced punishment after a fight broke out between them and the Pistons duo of Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate. It started with an altercation between Duren and Diabate, who exchanged words and got into a physical fight. Bridges intervened, prompting Stewart to rush off the bench and throw punches at the Hornets forward.

Given how the fight escalated, Stewart and Duren will miss a combined 11 games. Fortunately for Stewart and the Pistons, the suspension didn’t stretch to double-digit games as many initially predicted.

Former NBA player believes a 25-game suspension for Isaiah Stewart is on the cards

Isaiah Stewart has been frequently involved in on-court dust-ups. As a result, former NBA player DeMarcus Cousins believes Stewart’s suspension could stretch to 25 games. Here’s what he said on FanDuel Sports Network’s “Run it Back” show:

“It’s gonna be more than that,” Cousins said. “This ain’t no first-time offender… And he left the bench.

“If there’s a scuffle on the floor, and you’re on the bench and your foot just crosses the line, that’s (an) automatic suspension… He ran onto the court, and he also threw punches. I’m thinking 20 to 25, to be honest.”

Isaiah Stewart found himself in the spotlight in 2021 when he tried to attack LeBron James during a game between the Pistons and Lakers. Stewart had to be held off by nearly all of the Pistons staff and players. He was suspended for two games at the time.

In February 2024, he was arrested for punching then Suns center Drew Eubanks in the parking lot, leading to a three-game suspension. He was arrested for assault and was issued a citation before the charge was dismissed.

In March 2025, Stewart was suspended for two games during an altercation between multiple Pistons and Timberwolves players. Former NBA executive Joe Dumars suspended Stewart for an additional game and fined him $50,000 due to his repeated unsportsmanlike conduct.
