Aaron Gordon Injury Update: Nuggets Continue Facing Major Concerns on Forward Ahead of Game 6 vs Timberwolves (Apr. 30)

The Denver Nuggets have once again listed Aaron Gordon on their injury report, this time as “questionable” heading into Game 6 of their first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Gordon has already dealt with a tough season physically. He missed more than a month earlier in the year after suffering a Grade 2 strain in his right hamstring. Just as he was getting back into rhythm, he re-injured that same hamstring in January during a game against Milwaukee, which kept him out even longer.

By the time the playoffs began, that issue seemed to be behind him. He looked strong in Game 1, putting up 17 points in a 116-105 win for Denver. But things took another turn in Game 2, when he picked up a left calf injury. He still managed to finish that game with 8 points and 7 rebounds in 37 minutes.

The calf tightness forced him to sit out Game 3, which the Nuggets lost 113-96. He returned in Game 4 but did not look like himself, scoring just 9 points. Then in Game 5, he was sidelined again. Despite his absence, Denver stepped up and secured a 125-113 win.

With Minnesota missing Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo for the rest of the series, Denver suddenly has a real opportunity to push this to a Game 7 and possibly take the series 4 to 3, even if Gordon is not available in Games 6 and 7.

When healthy, he is a key piece of a championship-level roster and usually serves as the third scoring option behind Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. For a deep playoff run, they will need him back and fully fit.

In the meantime, Spencer Jones has stepped into the starting lineup and delivered solid performances. His 20-point effort in Game 5 showed he can hold things together until Gordon is ready to return.
