4 Times Lu Dort Proved That He Is One of Dirtiest Players in the NBA

Lu Dort was recently ejected in the OKC Thunder’s last game against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets after he was handed a flagrant foul 2 for trying to hurt the Serbian center.  Moreover, this was not the first time Luguentz Dort has been involved in such a high-intensity physical tussle with players.

Let’s see five other instances in which the elite defender was caught up in similar situations.

#1. Below the belt blow to Daniel Gafford last season

In the January 23 game against the Dallas Mavericks, Lu Dort was defending Kyrie Irving and came around Daniel Gafford’s screen to continue guarding the Mavericks guard. However, while moving around the center, Dort hit his groin with his extended arm, leading to a flagrant foul penalty 2 after review.

Dort was ejected from the game, and fans heavily criticized the Thunder SF for his antics and attempts to hurt other players.

#2. Group scuffle against the Spurs last season

After the previous incident, in the third quarter of the January 27 game against the Spurs, another fight broke out on the court. In an attempt to aggressively guard Julian Champagnie, Kenrich Williams had a physical altercation with the small forward.

Dort jumped into the fight from outside and started throwing hands at Jeremy Sochan, who was also a part of the group scuffle at that point. The referee ejected three players from the game: Lu Dort, Champagnie, and Williams.

#3. Post-game faceoff with the New Orleans Pelicans squad

In the fourth quarter of the January 27 game this season, Jeremiah Fears and Jaylin Williams began throwing hands at each other after a bucket. It turned into a full-fledged fight between the two players after things got heated up.

The game was already at the end of the regulation, so the officials could not hand out any fouls or ejections, but the NBA fined both players $25000 for the on-court act.

#4. Lu Dort’s recent scuffle with Nikola Jokic

The recent incident with Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets might be the worst among all. In the fourth quarter, when the Nuggets trailed the Thunder 88-90, the Thunder’s small forward seemingly came in the way of Jokic, leading him to fall on the floor.

Joker stood up and confronted Dort for the act, leading to a scuffle between the Serbian and Jaylin Williams. The officials then gave technical fouls to both Jokic and Williams, but Dort was handed a flagrant foul 2 and ejected from the game.
