NASCAR ARCA driver Taylor Reimer has shared a message for aspiring women in racing after a painful finish at Daytona International Speedway.
Reimer’s Daytona weekend did not go the way she had planned. Her superspeedway debut at the season opener, the 2026 General Tire 200, ended in disappointment. The 26-year-old showed promise early as she was running inside the top 10, but an electrical issue late in the race forced her out. She closed the day with a 30th-place finish.
In a recent post on X, Reimer wrote about why she felt the need to speak up and looked forward to the time when seeing a woman in a race car will not be unusual but expected.
“I am by no means perfect. Nobody is. I got back into racing 5 years ago and since then I have learned a lot and I’m still learning everyday. With that being said, as a woman in motorsports, I feel it’s my responsibility to be a role model for young and upcoming women in this sport,” Taylor Reimer wrote.
“I work hard every day to earn respect in this sport. The only way that happens is through on track performance and that’s my main focus. I look forward to the day when a female driver in racing isn’t different, it’s expected,” she added.
Reimer, who has had six top-10 finishes in so many starts, will drive the No. 77 Chevrolet for Pinnacle Racing Group this season. She first competed in ARCA in 2023 after taking a break from racing in high school to focus on academics and cheerleading at the University of Oklahoma.
She also talked about the challenge of gathering sponsorship to continue her career in motorsports.
“It’s A Grind” – Taylor Reimer Reveals Her Promise to Inspire Young Drivers Amid Sponsorship Struggles
Taylor Reimer is scheduled to compete in the No. 77 Chevrolet for five more races in 2026. She will share that car with teammates Tristan McKee and Lanie Buice and return to the track at Talladega Superspeedway, Berlin Raceway, Elko Speedway, Springfield, and DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.
Reimer’s longtime sponsor, BuzzBallz Cocktails, returned for her part-time ARCA schedule this year. FRE Nicotine will also appear on her car in select events. In the same post, she also mentioned the promise she made to herself.
“I understand how difficult it is to secure sponsorship in this sport. I’m fully funded based on the partners I bring in each year. It’s a grind. … I made a promise to myself that I would do it the right way. In 10 years I want to look back and be proud of how I carried myself and hope that I inspired young girls along the way, even if that means I don’t make it as far in the sport as I hope I do,” Taylor Reimer wrote.
Reimer has the most wins by any female at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She won her first late model pavement race at Tri-County and again at Hickory Motor Speedway in 2024. Her best ARCA Menards finish was third place, which came at Springfield that same year.
