Kyle Busch’s wife Samantha and daughter Lennix were at the Southern Illinois Raceway to support Brexton, who was racing sprint cars. Samantha Busch shared a video from the track on Instagram where her daughter practiced Kyle’s iconic bow celebration.
After Kyle Busch’s sudden death, Samantha Busch has been traveling with her son Brexton to all the races to support the 11-year-old. The most recent race for Brexton was at the Southern Illinois Raceway on Friday, where he finished P16 out of 115 drivers and picked up a heat race win.
Behind the scenes, in the trailer, Samantha and Kyle’s daughter Lennix mimicked her dad’s signature bow celebration. Samantha Busch shared a video of it on social media with a caption that read:
“Wanted to practice to be like Dad 🥹🥹🥹”

Samantha also uploaded a video of Brexton racing the sprint car in one of the heat races with a caption that read:
“Out here doing what he loves the most at Southern IL Raceway with 115 cars. Just picked up the win in his heat.”

Brexton Busch returned to the track just hours after his father’s private memorial service on June 2. Kyle Busch suffered from pneumonia, which progressed into sepsis and led to complications.
Brexton recently raced in the Summer Shootout at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he finished P2 in the Young Lions division after losing the lead on the last lap. Kyle Busch’s father, Tom, paid tribute to his son by driving the No. 51 that his son was supposed to drive in the Master’s Division.
Brexton Busch took to X after the heat races at Southern Illinois Raceway and reacted to his performance as he wrote:
“Finished 16th out of 115 drivers last night at SIR. Picked up a Heat Race win too. Gotta send it in a lil bit harder on top if I want to take home the win tonight!🫡.”
Samantha Busch reveals the promise she made to Kyle Busch in the hospital before his sudden death

Samantha Busch shared a post on Instagram on June 11, revealing the promise she made to Kyle Busch in the hospital regarding Brexton’s racing career. She shared images with her son at the track with a caption that revealed the promise.
“Watching Brexton back at the track is both heartbreaking and beautiful all at once because there are moments when I catch a glimpse of Kyle in him, the same determination, the same passion, the same spark, and for a second it feels like a piece of him is still right here with us. These moments are incredibly hard, but they also remind me that Kyle’s story isn’t over. It lives on through the dreams he inspired and the two children he loved more than anything,” read the caption.
“In the hospital, I made Kyle a promise. I promised him that I would do everything I could to help our children pursue their dreams no matter what. For Brexton, that dream is racing. It wasn’t a dream Kyle chose for him. It was something they shared,” she added.
Samantha Busch also uploaded a post where she detailed the two moments since Kyle Busch’s death that she considered signs from her late husband.
