Michael Malone is resuming his coaching duties after being fired by the Denver Nuggets last April. The 2023 NBA championship-winning head coach is being hired by the University of North Carolina as its new men’s basketball head coach. The Tar Heels are bringing in Malone to replace Hubert Davis, under whom the program suffered back-to-back first-round exits in the NCAA Tournament.

Who Is Michael Malone’s Wife Jocelyn Malone?
Michael Malone met Jocelyn while he was coaching at Providence College. They dated for four years before deciding to get married in 1998.
Jocelyn was born on May 21, 1974, in Canterbury, New Hampshire, to father Robert and mother Sally Cole. She went to Providence College, where she played volleyball. In four seasons, she recorded a school record 346 blocks.
Jocelyn and Michael share two daughters, Caitlin and Bridget. Both have shown a strong interest in volleyball. Caitlin won national-level recognition in youth volleyball. She went to Mountain Vista High School and has been involved in the sport since the age of 6. After high school, she showed her skills at Elevation Volleyball Club 17 Peak.
Meanwhile, Bridget plays for the North Carolina Tar Heels volleyball team. The 6-foot-1 sophomore is an outside hitter for the program.
During the 2020 NBA Bubble, Malone explained how important Jocelyn is to him. He said it was “criminal” that the NBA didn’t allow family in the bubble.
In 2022-23, when Malone’s Nuggets clinched the No. 1 seed in the NBA’s Western Conference, the head coach joked to the media that Jocelyn hadn’t congratulated him. Instead, she used her sense of humor to roast Malone.
“It would’ve been a lot better if you guys got it with a win,” Jocelyn apparently texted Malone.
Malone also responded, joking that he would make her an “ex-wife.” Jokes apart, they appear to share a healthy and respectful relationship.
