There was excitement around the tallest man in the history of college basketball, Olivier Rioux of the Florida Gators, ahead of the last season. However, the 7-foot-9 center did not play a single game in the national title run and ended up redshirting. This season, he struggled for consistent game time, averaging 1.9 minutes per game.
Rioux then decided to enter the transfer portal in search of a team that would suit his playing style and give him a starting spot. He has not yet found his next suitor. Amidst all this, a parody account claimed Rioux regretted entering the transfer portal and withdrew his name.
“NEWS: Florida transfer center Olivier Rioux has withdrawn from the transfer portal after receiving minimal interest. Florida, however, is not expected to pursue a reunion and Rioux is now exploring alternative options, including non-scholarship or high school opportunities,” the parody account shared.
The account, which goes by the name Shane Tuttle, is known for posting fake news and tricking fans. The account’s bio clarifies that everything it posts is satirical.
