“Stop That S**t”: Tyran Stokes’ Frustration With Player Comes Out in Interview as he Delivers Clear Message

Five-star recruit Tyran Stokes did not shy away from revealing his biggest basketball ick. During an interview with SportsCenter, he revealed that he does not appreciate players who indulge in trash-talking but cannot back it up with their performance.

“Biggest basketball ick? When someone, like, talks trash and are not good, and they don’t really do nothing. They just talk, and it’s like you’re not really adding anything to the game. You’re just out there as a decoy. So like, please stop,” he said.

The clip cut to a moment that Stokes had during the Nike Hoops Summit in Portland, Oregon, earlier this month. While playing for Team USA, he scored a bucket after a rival’s three-pointer.

The five-star recruit then turned to the player and responded to his attempts to trash-talk on the court. He ended the game with 15 points and a 102-100 victory over Team World.

“13, stop that s**t,” Stokes said.

Tyran Stokes currently plays for Rainier Beach High School. The top-three schools in his recruitment process are Kentucky, Kansas, and Oregon.

On Friday, he was a participant in the Jordan Brand Classic at El Camino College in Torrance. Stokes put up an impressive performance, scoring 29 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, and was honored as the MVP of the showdown.

Tyran Stokes gets honest about his upcoming visit

During the Nike Hoop Summit, Tyran Stokes revealed that he has an upcoming visit planned with the Kentucky Wildcats.

During an interview with Krysten Peek, the five-star recruit discussed this scheduled visit.

“I think I will be planning on going to Kentucky sometime this next coming week, anytime after the Hoop Summit,” Stokes said. “It’s a different coaching staff since the last time I was on campus. So just being able to go out there and talk to them and see what their plan is for me. Just go out there and see what they’re talking about.”

Mark Pope took over as the coach of the Kentucky Wildcats in 2024. During the 2025-26 campaign, he helped the team compete in March Madness, but they were eliminated in the second round by Iowa State. They recently secured the commitment of Tyran Stokes’ former high school teammate, Zoom Diallo.
