The NCAA has filed a motion for Alabama Judge James Roberts to recuse himself from the Charles Bediako lawsuit.
Roberts, an Alabama donor, was the one who granted Bediako a temporary restraining order that allowed him to suit up for the Crimson Tide recently.
The NCAA is basically asking the Alabama Judge to step aside because he donates to the school, arguing there could be a conflict of interest.
Fans online were in full support of the NCAA’s decision.
“I’m a Bama fan. This needs to happen. We are playing our part in ruining the integrity of the game,” one fan said.
“College is finished,” another commented.
“Damn they win and the season gonna get vacated when he is ruled ineligible,” one fan said sarcastically.
“The judge is a Bama fan and booster of course he needs to be,” another fan agreed with NCAA.
“All the other judges attended Alabama btw,” one fan stated.
“If the judge is known as a fair judge, I doubt he would vote against the rule of law. But I haven’t seen a law that says it is against the law to go back to college to complete your degree and play ball when you clearly still have two years of eligibility available,” another fan explained.

Series of Events That Led to NCAA Taking Legal Action Against Charles Bediako’s Alabama Judge
NCAA teams have been signing players from the G League and NBA draftees. One of the most recent players to earn eligibility is Charles Bediako, and most people are upset about it. John Calipari ranted about Baylor signing James Nnaji, a former G League player. He earned eligibility from the NCAA after there was a lack of regulations, which is what Calipari complained about.
Calipari received a lot of support from his fellow college basketball coaches. Tom Izzo, Rick Pitino, Mark Few, Matt Painter, and more raised their voices about unfairness for high school students.
After the continued outbursts from some of the biggest names in men’s college basketball, NCAA president Charlie Baker instituted the rule that the NCAA will no longer grant eligibility. However, when Charles Bediako sued the NCAA, Judge James Roberts ruled in his favor, and Bediako got a temporary restraining order, which was then extended by 10 days.
However, there were reports that Judge James Roberts is an Alabama donor, and people suspected foul play. Because of that, the NCAA has taken legal action.
