There has been a lot of noise around the NCAA. Charlie Baker, the NCAA president, announced a change of rule which led to two players suing the organization. One of the them was Alabama’s Charles Bediako.
Coaches like John Calipari, Rick Pitino, Tom Izzo all ranted about NCAA giving eligibility to NBA draftees and returning student-athletes. This started with Baylor Bears signing James Nnaji from the G-League. After opposing statements from esteemed coaches, Baker announced that the players returning will not be eligible to play college basketball.
However, things did not stay that way. When Bediako sued the NCAA, the judge ruled in his favor and he was granted the eligibility to return to Alabama. After Bediako, Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebe reportedly sued to get his eligibility.
Kentucky also reportedly set its sights for another G-League star Dink Pate. As for Bediako, Nate Oats recently shared that he will get playing time vs Tennessee. After that confirmation, Charles Bediako also addressed his return to college basketball and to Alabama.
Charles Bediako was asked why is he happy after the decision was turned in his favor by the judge. He answered:
“I get to be back here and play in front of the best fans in college basketball.”

Alabama fans mostly were mostly pleased, however, some fans did feel he should not have gotten the eligibility.
“HELL YES. LEAN IN ON THE HATERS,” one fan exclaimed.
“You can tell he’s excited about playing in Auburn. He mentions the best fans in college basketball,” another fan stated.
“Everyone seems to have an opinion. Hear Charles Bediako’s thoughts on what is the biggest storyline in sports this week,” one fan said.
“Congrats, you’re a fraud and a coward,” another commented.
“Practices with his G league team on Thursday and Alabama on Friday. The judge that ruled him eligible is an Alabama donor. He must not be that good if he hasn’t made it into the starting lineup on a G league team. Nate Oats is a clown,” another fan explained.
“The cheating Nate Oats! Have zero respect for him,” another claimed.
